Qualifications for Colorado Intergroup Service Positions

The following is a listing of the suggested qualifications for service on Debtors Anonymous Colorado Intergroup (DACIG). These are suggestions only and extenuating circumstances are often considered so please don’t let these discourage you from inquiring about service.

Treasurer

Alternate Treasurer
*group conscience 8/12 
Open entry at any time Up to 1 year (rotating into Treasurer when Treasurer rotates out) 1 year of solvency, 2 PRGs, has worked or is currently working the 12 steps of DA with a DA sponsor
Secretary
*group conscience 9/12
May 1 year (option to serve an additional year) No solvency required – just a desire to stop debting one day at a time
Intergroup Service Representative (ISR)
*group conscience 4/13
Anytime between September and December with the goal of attending the next year’s WSC in August 3 years (option to serve an additional 3 years) *Requirements for service*

  • At least one year back to back solvency
  • A successful record of service at the group or Intergroup level
  • Actively working the 12 steps with a DA sponsor
  • Has had at least 2 PRMs
  • Active in a home group
  •  Personal qualities: the ability to work in harmony with others, even amid controversy. The stamina to stay focused during the busiest days of the WSC and the willingness to follow the spiritual principles by which the Conference operates.
  • ISRs must also be aware of the workload – they are expected to work on a standing committee of the Conference for the full length of the WSC and by telephone or email through the year until the next Conference. They also have the job of carrying the group conscience of the Intergroup to the Conference and reporting news of the Conference to the Intergroup.
Public Information Representative(no group conscience as of yet) *from the DA Manual for Service     p. 64: attends meetings regularly with at least 3 months of not incurring unsecured debt (requirement is one year of not incurring unsecured debt for working with the media), has an understanding of the Traditions, including a firm grasp of anonymity as discussed in Traditions 11 and 12, Has worked the steps in DA or is currently engaged in step work in DA, Has a sponsor in DA.
Phone Line(no group conscience as of yet)
Web Manager
*group conscience 2/13
February 1 year (option to serve an additional year) 60 days, 1 PRG, has worked or is working the DA steps with a DA sponsor; has the technical knowledge needed to run the website, trains Alt. Web Manager
Alternate Web Manager
*group conscience 3/13 
Open entry at any time Up to 1 year (rotating into Web Manager position when Web Manager  rotates out) A desire to stop debting and a willingness to work toward the solvency and technical requirements of the web manager
